& FAQS

  • Individual Therapy

    Whether you’ve been in therapy for most of your life or this is your first time, I want to make this space as safe and comfortable as possible for you. I am deeply relational in approach to therapy, as I believe that change happens though relationship. I will work to build that therapeutic connection with you as I walk alongside you in your journey. It is likely that at times we will laugh with one another and also cry together as we celebrate your wins and mourn your losses together.

  • EMDR

    While I am here to noramlize that life is HARD and struggle is inenvitable, I also recognize that at times our brains need help to heal. Trauma (otherwise defined as a hard life event) changes our brain chemistry and we don’t process those memories the same we do everyday events. The good news is that our brains are malleable and we are able to reverse those changes. EMDR is therapy technique that allows your brain to challenge and reprocess the negativity of past memories while lookng for positivity in the present. {See this blog post for more infomation on EMDR}

  • In-Person or Virtually

    I provide therapy in-person and also virtually. There are pros and cons of each and would love to talk to you more about what would be the best option you. My sessions are typically 50 minutes (75 minutes for an intake session), but under certain circumstances a longer session may be therapeutically appropriate and can be discussed.

 FAQs

  • I offer a free virtual 15 minute consultation session to make sure that we are a good fit. For new clients my rate is $150 for a 75 minute intake session and then $135 for follow-up 50 minute sessions. I also accept some insurance plans. You will want to check with your carrier for fees (I can also check for you after our consultation).

    If finances are a concern please let me know during our consultation so we can discuss the best option.

  • Yes! I am currently in-network with Aetna and United Health Care. During your consultation please let me know you want to use insurance and I can confirm you are covered. I can also provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network benefits. You will want to check with your insurance carrier to check on thier reimbursement rates.

  • Absolutely!

  • Great question, and honestly one I really can’t fully answer. Everyone is unique and may approach therapy differently. Frequency and timing of sessions will be discussed during our first session to best fit your needs.

    Often therapy will start with regular frequency of weekly or biweekly sessions. As we evaluate progress of your goals, we access if we need to change the frequency. As therapy progresses clients will ofren reduce frequency to allow additional space between sessions to use the coping skills they have gained in therapy. Therapy can also be a long term relationship in which check-ins as needed are scheduled. Everyones’ needs, desires, and motivations are different and my goal is to honor what is best for YOU!

  • My office is located at 6401 West Eldorado Pkwy, Suite 236 McKinney, TX 75070. And I can see anyone in the state of Texas virtually.

  • I’m so glad you asked! It stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. What that means is that I graduated with my Masters in Social Work, completed 3000 clinical hours, 100 hours of supervision and then passed a national exam proving that I had the clinical skills to provide independent services.

    Basically it means I’m a social worker trained as a therapist and am fully qualified!
